Recreational Opportunities

The Gearhart Beach entrance near the Gearhart Condominiums allows vehicles access to the beach. You can drive as far North as Warrenton, but only as far south as the Pacific Way beach entrance. People enjoy clamming and shell hunting on the beach. At low tide you can find the beach filled with sand dollars. At night you can sit on the beach and watch the sunset near a bonfire. Youth enjoy the beach for long runs, and training for the Cross Country Program at Seaside High School.

The Gearhart Public Golf Course is one of the most challenging and nicest courses in the Northwest region of Oregon. This 18 hole course takes up the majority of the North side of Gearhart, with an excellent walking path continuing all the way around it. The Gearhart Golf Course is the perfect place to spend a sunny or damp afternoon, followed by dinner at the Sandtrap Restaurant.

The Gearhart Tennis Courts and Basketball hoop is where local kids ride their bikes to meet afterschool to play games like handball, basketball and tennis. The Gearhart park immediatly across the street allows for some running room, for soccer, football or tag.
